I am trying to figure out if there is a way to get the encrypted DNN 4.5 password using just SQL (need to get it talking to an old ColdFusion app).

I have found the opposite -- how to reset it using just SQL with "aspnet_Membership_ResetPassword", which appears to be writing the encrypted password from supplied plaintext using just SQL.

So how do I do the opposite?  I see the query in "aspnet_Membership_GetPassword" but all I get is the encrypted password.

It just seems to me that if I ResetPassword can write the encrypted value, then there should be a SQL equivalent to retrieve it.  Am I missing something?

Thanks!

You can get it from some of the Dot Net Nuke API.  Specifically, I was able to return the unencrypted password by using, if I remember correctly, DotNetNuke.Security.Membership and it class in the Membership provider.  I found I was able to but for the project I was working on didn't need it.
