I am having problems with the portal alias on my portal. I have DNN 4.3.4 and everything is working great (to my knowlege), with the exception of my portal alias.

Here is the situation.
- (I added the URLs because I've seen several people ask for them in other posts)
----------------------------
The server that housed the DNN sites crashed due to a hard drive failure (boot sector). All of the files were copied to a new drive...and then to a new machine. I struggled for a couple of days trying to get DNN working again. It is now working again (95%). The only problem I am having now is that when I go to http://www.buccaneerbrewcrew.com ... I get redirected to http://localhost/dotnetnuke2/ ...which is the original portal alias. If I drop the 'www.' ( http://buccaneerbrewcrew.com ) the site comes up with absolutely no problems...then...once I get into the site (going to any of the pages except 'Home')...I can add in the www. and the site continues to function as it should.

When I make a change to the PortalAlias table... changing localhost/dotnetnuke2/ to localhost/dotnetnukeSomethingElse ... the www.buccaneerbrewcrew.com ....takes me to the new alias. This is why I believe I have something set up wrong with my alias.

Could someone please tell me how to fix this ... please?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Billy

I figured it out...

Since www.buccaneerbrewcrew.com was not the original portal on the machine...it was redirecting to the original portal http://localhost/dotnetnuke2. I logged in as HOST and went to Host Settings under the Host menu. Then under 'Host Details' I had to change the drop-down list to the correct site. Once I made that change everything worked great.

I know I had to figure this out on my own, but I hope this helps someone else out of a bind.
