Greetings,

I run a community based website for a group of friends that is based in PHP.  I'm looking to find something that is .NET based, as I've been programming in C# the last year and feel I'd be more apt to work and upgrade a website that is based in a language I am currently using and learning.  What I need specifically is:

-Forum
-Blogs setup automatically for each registered user.
-Personal Profiles (with contact information that is only visible to people that are registered)
-Calendar for events that users can see.
-Gallery where users can store/share photos from the community group's events and meetings.
-Personally, I'd like have the ability for each user to have their own page where they can provide RSS feeds to supply content.  A personalized homepage as it were.

From what I can tell DNN looks like it provides most of this.  Am I correct in my assessment?

Also, if I go with DNN does that mean I need to write any add-ons that I create in VB.NET or can it be in C#?  I don't know much about integrating the two.  I have maintained some ASP.NET pages at work that were in VB.NET so if I must I do know VB.NET.  I understand editing the DNN software itself would need to be done in VB.NET

You won't have any problems using DotNetNuke for your needs.  And you can write your modules in any .Net lanaguage.  So yes, you can write them in C#.

As for the personal pages, if you have a LOT of users you may want to use a module like Portal Sign-Up.

Greetings & I agree that you shouldn't have too much troubles doing what you want. For each person to have their own page, will require you to add a 3rd party module I'm pretty sure but there are 2 or 3 ones available (one costs $ (check out www.snowcovered.com), the other is free & you'll have to lok around a bit for that).
