If I put a media module with a jpg in it next to text/html or announcements module, the image will get shoved so far to the side that only a sliver of it appears (fixed width skin). If I put the announcements and text/html next to each other in the same panes, they size nicely and share the space.

If I try to get tricky and put the media module on the left side and the announcements on the right, the announcements float right over a part of the image.

Is this something I'm doing wrong in my skin? Is there something odd about the media module in this regard?

I assume I'm just missing something. DNN 4.3.6

Thanks -

The Media Module is probably just playing nicer,

To insure that the module does not go smaller than a specific width you can put a spacer image in it's header field under

Go to Module Settings + Advanced : Header

And enter this html:  <img src="/images/spacer.gif" width="300" height="0" />

Set the witdth to whatever you want of course.

Works a charm, thanks. But I'm curious why the image itself - whose dimensions were explicitly specified in settings - wouldn't have had the same effect.

I'd have to se the html source before I could even try to answer that.

The idea of using spacer images is tried and true across browsers though, so keep that one in your bag of tricks.
