YES YES YES

I read all of Michael's tutorial (Michael Washington) and followed it step by step..... i explained this in my previous posts!!!  I said that it works on some modules I did BUT does NOT work on others especially when I insert a user control..... basically whenever my module for some strange reason references app_global.asax.dll.

Thanks for posting, but please before check what I said before (it's frustrating)... (sorry I was little bit frustrated )

Alright, let me go on a limb here.

How did you install DNN? From your source or using the install version. The install version puts the global asax in the precompiled dlls. It does not include its code. I am still at odds of why there isn't a DNN version that does not have any code files whatsoever, just dlls. But I may be missing something.

Now, I don't completely understand why you have problems with dlls when you include the user control. I would ask you to send me the code, but I don't use the dynamic compile version, (web site) I prefer WAP. Some Core Team members are using that method, they'll chime in. Now, in the announcements team, Erik has opted to use the Web Site method for the next version which will be just for .net 2.0, so I will set up my environment for that approach today and let you know what I find out.

1: using the install version

2: i used the install version BUT in folder app_code there is Global.asax.vb (so i assume that this file is NOT precompiled)

3: WAP... is there a documentation on using it this way?

I will try to create a really simple module which 'creates' the problem and post it somewhere.

thanks

I'll see if I can pin a WAP post with instructions, if not I will post it at the dnnla site.
