I have some different portal aliases for my site other than localhost.

I added some galleries and pictures using http://localhost. When i later on try to watch an gallery using www.mydomainname.com it doesnt work because te gallery modules are looking for localhost. This implies that you cannot have multiple aliases and use the galleries.

Do anyone have an idea.

I have three portals. The main site with a sub portal and another parent portal with it's own domain name.  The main portal and it's child portal both have there own Gallery modules and they work fine.  They are also alised to localhost mainly because I'm doing some wierd DB stuff on the localhost that I'm testing.

I don't know for sure but I'm thinking that if you had only local host set when you added pictures to the gallery and then uploaded everything to your host then added in the alias for your domain name that that might cause a problem. It did for me.  :)

You are GREAT !!!!
Perhaps here is the solution of the gallery bug report by most people !!!!

Since 1 day my gallery is up without error !!! it never happened before

So i think BEST PRATICE is:

Install latest patched version of the gallery
Have a domaine name or a dynamic DNS name (www.dyndns.org) :-p
Fix the domain in IIS properties on your DNN site :-p
In HOST DNN configuration add the domain name you have
In HOST/PORTAL settings, delete all reference to a static IP ... 127.0.0.1 , 192.168.x ..., only let the domain name like for me "wwwizsurfingcom.dyndns.org"

Now i've opened the admin part of my site ... not directly on my IIS web server ... but from an external client computer  .... at work, cybercafé, .... then i recreated the gallery after .

Still it seems working well ;-pp

Next step importing my old news to NewBlog

THX ALL and hope that will HELP :-p

sniffff ... at 00h30 this night .. the gallery failed and a second time this afternoon

still: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I moved the DLL out of the folder than replaced it into ... no succeed
i deleted the images index file (_metadata.resources) ...
then the gallery recreated it and it works again until this afternoon ... i deleted the file and so on ...
i will make a short script that delete the file each hour )) If this can solve me for a short time this is the unique solution i've

Hope next release will be out soon

I'm having the same issue with the Beta version.  Doesn't matter which alias I add first or second.  I've noticed that if I add the module to the site in the admin screen from one alias, it'll work for only that alias.  But I can add it from either.  I'm hoping this issue is resolved in the new release.
