DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception.

I for the life of me can not find why this is, and I am really sorry if this issue has been brought up. I have change strings deleted strings, stood on my head, kicked my computer and I can't get this to install and I would really like to see what it does.

IIS (not sure which Virgin (yep did that on purpose)

sqlserver express. If you need any other info to help let me know.

I'm getting close to yours.   New installation.  SQL Server 2000 on another box.  Confirmed commenting and setup of connection strings.

I get:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

Please check your connection string and make sure, that the db server accepts the appropriate connection method as well as the user is created correctly and has sufficient permission for the database (see installation manual). For SQL Express see the Blog Post of Shaun Mehaffie here on DotNetNuke.com.
