Ive got a little problem with the overall configuration and skinning of DNN.

My first problem is that i have Visual Studio 2005 but when i load a sample skin.ascx file along with its stylesheet you cant view the two combined in the design view.  I do have dreamweaver that allows one to use a design time style sheet that works slightly better but not much.

So my problem is that for every single change to the skin.ascx and the skin.css i have to compress, upload and apply the skin to see the changes.  Is there an easier way to do this.  I really do not need to use the skin upload facility as i am a seasoned html, asp, asp.net developer.  Just having difficulties with the DNN scructure etc.

What i think i am doing is editing my skin.ascx in a skin folder that isnt the eventual upload folder.  Now i have uploaded it once is it posible to just edit the file, save it and refresh my browser.

Thanks for any help

After you have uploaded it, you can edit the .ascx directly and it will be reflected in the browser after a refresh.

You don't even have to upload it first.  You could just copy your skin folder to the skins folder of the portal you want it to be available in, or to the _default/skins folder if you want it to be available to all portals.
