I have noticed the speed increase that was mentioned in the upgrade blog. Many thanks to everyone at DotNetNuke for this upgrade and all the hard work that you have done for the community. All the best for 2007!

Thanks for your notes.
Can you be more precise concerning: Activate App_Offline.htm

I assume this is to avoid than someone visit the site while upgrading. HOW do you do this ???

Create an HTML file and call it App_Offline.htm. Put words on this file/page that state that the web(s) is/are offline for X minutes while Y happens etc. and please to check back later. Copy this file into the root of your web site(s) and all web traffic will now go to this file. Try it.

TIP: I just rename it to something different when I am finished with it so that I can quickly and easily use it again the next time I need it.

When I try this, I get a 404 error on the domain. If I put in the file name at the end of the domain I see it OK. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I am using an instant alias as I have not pointed the domain to the site yet. It is at

http://cmoamerica.com.theforerunnernetwork.com

I use DotNetPanel for my hosting service admin and it lets me create this subdomain approach to access a site until I move the domain.

Another question is how do you see the upgrade if when you browse the site all you see is this offline message? Oh, I guess you use the path to the upgrade and turn auto upgrade off? Is that it?
