Hello,

I simply unzipped the install from the dotnetnuke website, uploaded the files to my webserver, adapted the web.config (for the database configuration) and i tried to install: www.mydomain.com/install/install.aspx?mode=install

But i keep getting this error:
Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules.UrlRewrite' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

In my web.config is this the first of the httpModules, so i guess the others won't work either. so something else must be wrong. Does anyone has an idea?

Thx

Thomas

make sure, you set up the web site correctly, with the directory pointing to the root of your installation, where the web.config resides.

Thx for your reply Leupold.
I have to save the web.config in the root of the application, right? Not in the installation folder, i think?

I followed these steps:
  1. unzip the install package from dotnetnuke.com
  2. adapt the web.config (only the sql specifications)
  3. make sure my root is an application
  4. Set the write and read rights for the asp.net user
  5. make my database user the owner of the db
  6. uploaded the unzipped files to my root (with the new web.config)
  7. surf to my website: www.mydomain.com/install/install.aspx?mode=install
I think i did everything what i had to do? But i still get this error.

please make sure, there is a DotNetNuke.HttpModules.UrlRewrite.dll in your /bin subfolder, otherwise ther might be an unzip issue (use foldernames when unzipping!)
