I have a DNN 3.1.1 installation which is highly customized and has a closed source module which is not compatible with later versions of DNN so I cannot upgrade. I am building a new website and want to use DNN 4.4 to get the latest performance enhancements. I want to reuse 50% of my code between my two sites with active development on both. Will I have to maintain two different sets of my custom dlls or are 3.x dlls built in 2003 interchangable with 4.x modules built in 2005? And does my visual studio version have a factor here too in compatibility? As I have been using 2003 and just got 2005 and so will have a transition period here where I will be using both.
