I'm getting a consistent & reproducible error (reported by a number of end users) with all of our modules (in this case, the Inventua SideMenu).  The error only occurs when the user is not logged on, and the stack trace indicates that it's not a result of anything I'm calling from the module, it looks like a bug in the core?

Further to this:  The error is on line 471 of PortalSecurity.vb.  If you change the existing line:

  If UserName.Length > 0 Then

to

  If UserName <> String.Empty Then

The problem is fixed.

Has anybody taken a look at this issue? There is a lot of Inventua side menu users out there.

Is PortalSecurity.vb a file in the inventua module or DNN code (searched my upgrade package and could not find the file)?  I am having the same issue with my modules.  :-(
