I tried to upgrade a working 4.3.7 site to 4.04 using ftp of update to the host, moving web.config sql server connection and machine key entries into release.config, then renaming release.config to web.config.
I now get the following error as the install.aspx runs:
The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

If anyone has a clue how to fix this I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Thanks much!

Michael

I found I had set  '  objectQualifier="dnn_"   ' in web.config for the old installation but not for the new one. When I added that to the new web.config I no longer got the this error, I just got a blank page with 2 "error encountered" messages. Since this is a site just beginning development I decided it would be more expedient to delete the entire installation and install 4.4 instead of upgrading 4.3.7.

When upgrading you may have to move compression.config from \config folder to root directory if you received an compression.config error..
