I also had a problem making AJAX RC1 work in DNN 4.40.

I followed the steps to make changes to the web.config file as outlined by the Ajax team and I got some errors about the SYS object not being declared and some errors in a scriptresource.axd call at runtime.

I followed the same steps on DNN 4.37 and it worked okay.

In DNN 4.40 there were some web.config changes, not sure if this was the conflict. I will try again and see if I can get it to work!

Please note that to get the CollapsiblePanel to work I needed to change the doctype setting in default.aspx.

Take a look at the AJAX samples to see how to change the doctype.

The errors that I am getting with 4.40 are as follows:

1) Illegal characters in a call to xxxxx/ScriptResource.axd?d=xxxxxxxxxxxx

2) then Sys is undefined in call to sys.application.initialize

I have exact same problem trying to apply latest AJAX ASP.NET Extention to DNN 4.4.0. I get a set of js errors with the main one being Sys is undefined.

Any news on this issue, anybody? Is there probably a conflict in the web.config file among AJAX and DNN settings?

Help greatly appreciated.
