Hey all, I'm sure I'm doing something very basic wrong here and am going to feel stupid after this gets figured out.  I've installed DNN a bunch of times so this shouldn't be stumping me like this.

I have a new installation on a new server (from the 4.4. Install download).  I've pushed all the files up and set up an IIS application (Win2003).  I have set up a new SQL 2000 database and updated both connection strings in the web.config that shipped with the 4.4 Install download.  (I've removed the development and release.configs just to avoid confusion).  When I navigate to the root or the install/install.aspx I always get the same error - the basic .Net runtime error that tells me to update my customError tag to see the full error.  I have replaced the tag in the web.config as follows (customErrors mode="Off") but for some reason it still won't show me a complete error!?  What am I missing???

Thanks.

Hmm, I don't seem to be able to edit my original post.  I forgot to mention that I also updated permissions to allow the ASPNET user full rights to the wwwroot and all subdirs (just to make it easy on me).  Again, this problem is very basic - I can't even get the system to recognize that I've changed the web.config to be able to see the errors!?

If it is missing the web.config changes then make sure that your IIS website is setup correctly.

Set as an Application, Home directory pointing to the corect folder, web services extensions enabled (for 2003).
