Hello.  I just upgraded to 4.4.0.  I wanted to create a new page and move many modules and their content to it.  Here is what I did:

1. Created new page and selectively chose modules which I wanted to copy to the new page (I was excited to see this new feature)

2. The new page came up and ALL the modules from the first page were there but they were empty.  I said to myself "that is not what I want" and I deleted that newly created page

3. I went back to the original page from which these modules were supposed to be copy and ALL the modules were empty there too!

Is there something I did wrong or is this a bug with this otherwise exciting new feature.

Thanks!

Ken

This is probably related to an issue with cacheing I have found (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=4742)

When copying pages the same module ID's are used on both pages until you clear the cache (Host Settings)

Thank you for the insightful find.  This seems plausible given the behavior I saw.

The article you referenced - that site was set to "heavy caching".  The site this occured on is set to "moderate caching", so the problem may occur on moderate caching as well.

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

In order to "give back" to the community, I have performed a test on two different instances of DNN 4.4.0 with regarding to creating a new page and copying the modules.

Both instances have "moderate caching" turned on.

In one instance, it worked fine.  In other instance (the one I originally reported this issue for) the caching was indeed the problem.  When I went under host and cleared the cache, I went back to the copied page and it was in tact.

Thanks!
