I've seen and worked on Skins in the past that have taken a session variable and then changed layout due to loading different CSS, but I haven't seen anyone dynamically loading a totally different skin (different name) based on outside variables for the same page.

all you have to do is just change the skin setting for a page/site then reload it.

now dynamic skins, in asp.net 1.1 I've done with code-front. I recommend limiting the amount of code there and just putting as much code as you can in your own private assembly.

Also I dont recommend putting too many inline editing, keep that to as few as possible. Over 20 might be too much.  Also keep your styles in a css file, if you need to change the css file dynamically then just have multiple copies of teh css file.

i have dynamic skins on my page.  i also allow my members to dynamically create and apply different skins for their pages.  check it out.
