Hello,

A few days ago i downloaded the 4.4 'Starter kit' and bounced into some problems, i fixed one after the other and completely restarted:

In visual studio i created a new clean dotnetnuke project and builded it with CTRL-F5 and right away i deployed it to the webserver. I did set up a virtual directory to it and this is what i get now:

http://www.pcbedrijf.nl/

http://www.pcbedrijf.nl/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Could+not+find+a+part+of+the+path+'D%3a%5csites%5cvhosts%5cpcbedrijf.nl%5chttpdocs%5cDNN%5cApp_GlobalResources%5cLocales.xml'.&content=0

I tryed to upload App_GlobalResources but then an error appears: 'app_globalresources not allowed on a precompiled application'

Have searched this forum and even on google and nothing...

Any ideas? plz, i did spend another 4 hours and i'm  getting frustrated of dotnetnuke atm :(

at present DotNetNuke does not support precompilation, i think this is your problem. I recommend you do a standard xcopy deployment. FYI : the precompilation issue has been looked at and a solution is being sought.

Ok, that explains.. it would had been my following step to try thru ;)
Precompiled makes it a bit faster (like 1 or 2 seconds faster load time)

Anyway, uploading with "Copy Website" function included in VS right now...
In a few minutes i'll see the results ;)

New error, almost the same:   "Could not find file"
Indeed, there is no existing "Locales.xml" file in the App_GlobalResources
Only a Locales.xml.config in the App_GlobalResources?

http://www.pcbedrijf.nl/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Could+not+find+file+'D%3a%5csites%5cvhosts%5cpcbedrijf.nl%5chttpdocs%5cDNN%5cApp_GlobalResources%5cLocales.xml'.&content=0

Who can help me with this? plz..
