OK, I did it. I installed VS 2005 and used the great tutorials from Michael Washington to make my first Dotnetnuke module. It is a tiny module and it is based on the SuperSimple example from Michael. The Module is called ActiveForumsTopUsers and it is a controll that shows you a list with Top 10 posters on your Active Forums. If you want to have it you can download it here: http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=228.

So, I made the first step to start creating Dotnetnuke Modules...more to come...I have some ideas

I just tried to convert a .Net 1.1 app to .Net 2.0 but that did not go very well. That has more to do with my lack of knowledge then enything else I guess

Congrats on your first module Mariette.  That's a nice add-on.

if you try to convert a DNN3 module to DNN4, use the migration wizard from Charles Nurse, available at the download page. For other .Net apps, there should be a migration wizard from Microsoft, supporting at least with parts of this job. Good luck.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
