I'm new, but I did manage to upload skin and container packages. They almost work.

I upload an html page and style sheet; DNN parses it to the ASCX page.

The ascx page generated by dnn for my containers are different from the others:

Mine have lines like:

The DNN skins look like:

Do I have to edit the generated ascx page to add the CommandName definitions, etc or do I have a missing link somewhere?

Thanks

I can not see your code, You need to give some space between <" "script.... to make it visible here.

I think from what you say, you are missing [action] in the html of your container. the container html gets parsed. Just have a look at the containers supplied with the portal and see the differences between HTML and ASCX.

Sorry - Here's the code:

Mine have lines like:

< dnn:ACTIONBUTTON1 runat="server" id="dnnACTIONBUTTON1" />

The DNN skins look like:

< dnn:ACTIONBUTTON1 runat="server" id="dnnACTIONBUTTON1" CommandName="AddContent.Action" DisplayIcon="True" DisplayLink="True" />

I have since discovered that I did not have any xml files in my skins or containers, which means that none of the dnn tags had attributes. Which raises the question, what do I use to create the xml file if I am working emotely and on a mac?

:-)

Start with an empty text file, name it container.xls and add this this text:
<Objects>
 <Object>
  <Token>[ACTIONBUTTON:1]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>CommandName</Name>
    <Value>AddContent.Action</Value>

Thanks Sam. If I want to get more detailed, I've found the appendix to the skinning pdf - are there any tools for doing this or am I back to hand coding?
