Hello,

I have created a custom module that works fine if I do NOT put a value in the Key field of the view module. When I place a key value in for the View module my page will not load. If I go back to the module definition and remove the key then the module will load just fine. The problem is I want to be able to use NavigateURL(ControlKey) in my application and I am under the impression I need a value in the View modules Key field to do this? I am using DNN 4 (just downloaded it two weeks ago). I am really stuck so I hope someone can help me here! Thanks!!

The default control for a module must not have a key, other controls to be called by your module will need to use a key.

Thanks for that reply. I was following a tutorial given by aDefWebServer:

http://dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNuke/tabid/195/Default.aspx

Which outlines providing a key value to a custom View module in order to utilize the NavigateURL function in DNN. Although the tutorial seemed to be based on a DNN version prior to 4, it was otherwise very clear albeit thus far ineffective. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again!

Thanks Michael, but this is the tutorial I was following and every time I put a value in the main View module's Key field the main View module will not load into the page. If I remove the key value then the module loads just fine. Any advice on what I may be doing wrong? Again I am using DNN 4.40 Thanks!
