Is possible to change the upload button on a particular template (nifty pref) to an image instead. I'm finding that users are having a difficult time figuring out how to upload their files. Changing the button to an attractive image would make a huge difference. I know that it was possible to change the download button with a previous version (which I'm also interested in), is it the same issue with the upload button?

Finally, is there a timeframe for the next version?

I read the above blog from the link - but it did nothing for me. Had a conversation with Steve via email and have learned the following:

  • Version 3.01.09, the Repository supports localiztion, text for all labels and controls ( including buttons ) is now in the resource file and no longer in the .xml file. look in the repository.vb.resx file under the App_LocalResources folder, look for the DownloadButton.Text key and set the text equal to the same CDATA string you are using in your template.xml file. (I edited the file Repository.ascx.resx with Notepad to resolve the issue)
  • Take the DLL from repository_3.1.11_Install.zip and place it into the root/bin folder.
    Name of file to replace is:
        DotNetNuke.Modules.Repository.dll
    Details:

    Modified: 10/06/2006 10:51AM
        Size: 192 KB
        Version: 3.1.11.17566
  • Example of entry I used to test: (can probably change to a relative path)
        <data name="DownloadButton.Text">
            <value></value>
        </data>

Hope that helps.

Chad

Just a note. I believe that beginning with the Repository module 3.1.10, all text has been moved to resource files to fully support localization. So, the 'technique' mentioned in the blog still works for substituting images for buttons, however the CDATA section should now be placed in the Repository.ascx.resx file located in the App_LocalResources folder. Look for the DownloadButton.Text key and set the value to your CDATA test for your image as shown in the blog.
