I'm trying to set it up so that a user can run a report and then submit to the results to another program, say to be saved to a file or uploaded somewhere else. It seemed easiest to use the Reports module to run the query and generate the output, but is there anyway to take that output and send it to a program that I write?

Any help is appreciated!

The Reports module is not really designed to do that, but if what you are looking for is a system to create a file from your report, you may want to check out the Visualizer Framework in the Reports module. You would have to develop your own custom Visualizer that would save the results to a file. I'm planning on writing a short guide to help developers to write Visualizers but if you take a look at the DesktopModules/Reports/Visualizers/Grid folder you can see a simple example of a Visualizer.
