I'm not getting any bites on my more general thread... So, can anyone confirm whether they have DNN 4.4.0 (or any version for that matter) running correctly in 2003 Web Edition and if they had to do anything special to make it work?  I can get it running fine (source code copy method) in 2003 Standard, but in 2003 Web Edition I get page not found errors on the ASPX files -- the htm files are served fine.  There must be some little checkbox I'm missing in IIS that isn't necessary in 2003 standard.

I'm getting frustrated - any thrown bone would make me smile.  Thank you for your help! Kel

This does work correctly with ANY edition of windows that runs IIS as well as has .NET 2.0 installed. You most likely are missing the .NET mappings on that server, you can correct this by using the aspnet_regiis method.

Thank you for the information, Alec.

That doesn't seem to be the problem in my case... I removed and reinstalled the 2.0 framework and also ran the aspnet_regiis -i method without any change.  I compared settings between a working 2003 Standard IIS installation and the web edition's IIS, and all the settings are identical with the exception of an fpexedll ISAPI filter on the Standard box that must not be related.

I've also started from scratch with a new Web Edition installation with no luck... very strange...?

OK I'm an idiot.. I needed to enable ASP.NET 2.0 in the web service extension.  I know I've never done that with any of my Standard IIS installations, which flies in the face of a MSDN post I just read suggesting that IIS always ships with them disabled.  For now, I'm just happy to have it working.  Thanks again for your reply.

Is it possible that by publishing a site from VS 2005 using FP extensions, that the ASP.NET 2.0 service extension is automatically enabled?
