Hi.
Is it possible to change the display text for the Language Packs.
I would like to allow users to select English or Spanish, without a reference to a country.
Selecting one language pack for specific users of the site should be enough.

I am more interested in letting users change the language via the drop down language selector than having the browser setting drive this.

I can not seem to find the language pack files. I guess they are some XML files hiding somewhere.

Is there a simple change that I can do to remove the country in the display?

Thanks for any suggestions.

- Jim

Jim,

display name for installed* language packs is stored in /app_GlobalResources/Locales.xml. Users can use language selector to switch between active languages for that portal (so admin can control, which languages are available.

* DNN download comes with en-UD language installed only, goto languages page of www.dotnetnuke.com to find additional language packs.

Thanks - I see how DNN is adding the localization via these languages packs.

How can I change the display of the language selector so that it only says English and Espanol, and not United States for English, and Espana for Spain.

I just want the drop downs to say English or Spanish.

Why should I make spanish speakers pick a country - I am bound to pick the wrong one!!Or perhaps I can create an Espanol - United States Language pack...

Any suggestions?

p.s. I have created a multi lingual module for HTML and I want to use the default language selector to drive it. But I think having to pick a language and a country is being to specific.
