Hi,

I use the repository for a company directory of engineering documents. I think it's dragging the DNN app as a whole down, because it's nearing 400MB in size and there are various problems when other modules (like the shopping cart) must iterate the documents in different directories. I think it also causes problems when the file sync runs.

I'd like to place it outside of portals/0. Will this be possible at all?

Thanks
Rozanne

It's possible now. If you log in with host credentials you can set the path where the files are stored and it can be anywhere on the server as long as that directory has the .NET process permissions (ASPNET in 2000/Network Service in 2003). I'm not sure what will happen with current files if you change the directory. I can't remember if the database will be pointing back to the current location or if it'll pick up the new location and I'm not near my dev system to test it out.

One just had to change the settings for each individual repository instances, to the new location, and then all is good from there. Thank you!

Please excuse my ignorance. Why a large size of files there affects the performance?

Thanks

Does it mean that the files are moved to the new location ??
