Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I downloaded the source code version 4.3.7 and extracted the archive to the wwwroot. Then created a new virtual folder (DotNetNuke_2) in IIS and directe it to the web folder of the solution and opend the solution file using visual studio 2005 and tried to cmpile the solution.

Then it gave me lots of compilation errors.

Ex:

           Name 'Config' is not declared.

           Name 'LogException' is not declared.

           Type 'PortalController' is not defined.

Then i found that it not using some of the name spaces. Then i imported them. But again it gave me more and more errors.

Can you tell me whether i'm  missing something here?

Regards,

Nirasha

you first have to rename either development.config or release.config into web.config. As Microsoft thought it was a good idea to put namespace references in web.config, no references will be available if you don't have a web.config file (vs will generate one for you though, but that will not contain the correct references).

Hi,

Thanx for the quick response.

Now i have another problem their.

I need to create a menu depending on the role of the user. But all the menu should be display in the home page but when i click on the tab only it should ask for the login.

Ex:

Menu tabs:

Administrator, Supervisor, Student - All these tabls should display on the home page

When i click on the any of these tabs it should goes to login page and once the user login to the system it should goes to (say administrators home page) the home page relavant to the role.

How can i achieve this?

Regards,

Savani
