Hi Guys
Maybe i'm missing something, but, I can't seem to find the user table in SQL 2005express, in 2k make Db run portal then browse to Db expand tables scroll down there it was.  Why isn't it that easy with 2005 does DNN 4.xx do something with the tables, where can they be found??

TIA
Pat

it depends, how you create your SQL Express database:

  • if you created the database yourself using management studio, you can access it as any other sql server 2000/2005 database
  • if you create it file based, you need to open the file specified in the web.config (default location is /data), but be cautions, read the blog post from Shawn Mehaffie here on DNN.com.

Thanks for reply
That's what i thought? this is how i did it. Open management studio express, connect to sqlexpress, right click on database, click new give it name, open webconfig enter name of Db with user and password, save open instance of dnn the IE, job done, but no tables?

it sounds like you used the sql express connection string, in this case, the specified .mdf file is used. Please read this blog post before accessing the database!
