It seems your problem is with the connection string. You stated earlier that you're using MSSQL 2000, but in your web.config, that is commented out. By default, the SQL 2005 Express connection string is enabled, the string for 2000 and 2005 is commented out. If you change that, you should be able to access your database.

Thanks for the clarification. But I am confused, looking at the script I do not see where/what signifies a 'comment line' and what does not. Any help appreciated.

After looking at the script again I see its the --->

In the web.config file, just like in regular HTML, you use the string <!-- to start a comment, and --> to end it. Anything in between will be ignored.

So if you delete the parts that I marked RED, and insert those parts that I marked YELLOW, it should work fine. The same modifications are required for the connection string in the <appSettings> part of the web.config.
