Hi,

I've taken the advise from this thread.

I installed DNN 3.3.7 and have been working on it for a week, I did not yet change the default host login. This morning I cannot login. So I've deleted all cookies, change the settings in IE6 - Override automatic cookie handling, lowered the security, shut off the firewall. But still no access.

Any other suggestions?

M

How does logging into dotnetnuke.com remains independent of these privacy settings in IE6?

OK i have figured out my problem. The reason my users are being forced to check those settings in IE-6 is to allow 'Third-Party' cookies, and the reason why my portal cookies are being considered as 'third-party' is that the parent website uses frameset re-direction. Here is the microsoft explanation of the situation:

"Internet Explorer 6 introduced support for the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) Project. The P3P standard notes that if a FRAMESET or a parent window references another site inside a FRAME or inside a child window, the child site is considered third party content. Internet Explorer, which uses the default privacy setting of Medium, silently rejects cookies sent from third party sites." (Source: Session variables are lost if you use FRAMESET in Internet Explorer 6)
