Hi, I have developed a DNN site and on my developer machine , I used localhost\dnn437 to access this site. Now , while I have transferred all my files to Hoster's FTP , when i try to type in my URL (http://cominfowebc.web125.discountasp.net) , it redirects me to localhost\dnn437 again , Can you please suggest where is the problem ? Thanks

Hi there, you need to edit portal alias field from database. Login to Discount ASP.NET account and from SQL Managmenet Studio you can change portal alias.

I connected to my DB using sql mgmt stduio , opened PortalAlias table and modified my HTTPAlias field to http://cominfowebc.web125.discountasp.net/ (previously, it was "localhost\dnn437") , now when i type http://cominfowebc.web125.discountasp.net/ in browser , it says Page cant be displayed. Can you pls explain in little more detail. Thanks in advance.

Hello

I am not en expert on this, but I think you can skip the http:// part, if you change the alias from within DNN its sufficient to just use the domain name without the http:// part, so possibly the same deal even if you use the DB to change the value.

Hi again,
Do not include http:// prefix when defining aliases for your portal. Because dnn automatically adds http:// prefix.

Please modify and check again.

Best regards.
