I brought one quizzing module from Markus Warnking from snowcovered three weeks ago. He claimed that it worked on DNN4 but it didn't! He has not fixed it yet neither is he refunding me my money. He is from Germany. Anyone knows how to handle the problem of getting the refund in such instances? I am bit worried to buy software from snowcovered because they don’t seem to guarantee anything.

Snowcovered is full of junky modules and fly-by-night developers. I recently told them to add the posted date to each listing just so that there was at least some way of telling whether something had been sitting there for years or since yesterday. I think that has helped a lot.

My rule is to never buy anything off there until you've made the developer respond to a question or two. The way they reply will say everything you need to know about them. Even then, about 2 out of 3 modules I've bought have turned out to be unusable. Complain to Snowcovered and leave a bad feedback for the module if it really deserves it. Getting a refund after 30 days is pretty remote however because Snowcovered are like eBay... all hands-off and everything's your fault when you get ripped off. Often the amount involved is not a lot, so a warning left for other buyers is a good way to end it. Good luck.

This is where DotNetNuke Marketplace comes in.  Atleast from there you'll know the modules have been reviewed by a third party.

For the price you pay on some of the commercial modules available, don't think you can expect too much from them.  Thus if source code is available my preference is to also purchase the source in case if...

I have done a quiz module before - very specific but with a bit of work i could sell it what kind of features are you wanting in it other than what you mentioned

PS i have the forms module being talked about and i dont like it to complex for what it does (just my 2 cents sorry)

sir, maybe your module could be of use. I simply need a module that can create the quiz on the fly, multiple choice (single answer and multiple answers), it can connect to a database, and place the score in any specified existing table, ofcourse show the scores in a nice comprehensive way after the quiz, have a functionality of randomizing the questions if it is taken not the first time, and can specify how many times it can be taken. I think it ain't that big, and i'm from asia, so your dollars could mean thousands in my money so please be reasonable. email me at cogstagg@yahoo.com =P

that warnking guy also got me gaga on that free quizzing module of his that he said would work on dnn 4 (see my post, "error of the century") I could have bought his newer version if he didn't flop in the free one. I wasted 2 days trying to fix my problem! yup, snowcovered is not a good place to check things out. a lot of fly-by developers right. I'm new in dotnetnuke, so it gave me a bad impression. I'm trying to learn here, no time for erroneous paid-modules.
