Of course you can use IIS and the source package to run it under VS2005. I don't understand - what's the problem with using IIS?

IIS is not needed to run web applications in vs 2005, it has it's own built in server for developing web apps. I am still having an error message that reads error creating control form any help for this.

I have been having the same issue and a way arround it seems to be using the 4.5.3 Install package.

Unziip it, open it as a website and run it using ctrl F5. This worked for me.

It seems that it is the StarterKit.vsi that has some issue with it.

Hope this helps.

So... what you're saying is that the power users that actually paid for their IDE, and might actually create multiple DNN websites don't get the benefit of the templates, etc. that the VSI provides?

Does Microsoft know about this?
