I installed (or it did seem so) DNN 4 in my hosted web site (essentially hosting provider - godaddy- did the installation). I installed it a few days ago - did not have time to do anything back then. So I'm not sure that everythign was actually installed and worked well at that time.

Today I came back and when I opened the DNN URL, the site started update to 4.5.1 , then I got forwarded to the site per se and got the error "Domain Name ***** Does Not Exist In The Database"

I opened SQL browser for my DB and it seemed like tables and SPs were there but no records. Nothing in Portals, nothing in Users

Looks like somehow the code for entering the first records did not run. If it's so - how do I force it to create those initial DB records?

Or maybe somethign else is the reason?

Thanks for your help,

Eugene

What do you mean by "standard password"?

I have not done yet anything with the site.

I have not seen it in fact - I've seen only the instalaltion pages.

After your description, i thought a least a day ago you finished the installation properly and the next day your portal alias was lost ?
A standard password (e.g. host : dnnhost) would not be very clever on a production machine with a public ip.

Well, I really don't think anybody hacked the site - there is just nothing there. currently it's as much production as development, in fact really learning environment...

And actually I'm quite sure that DNN was not ready at the time I left the instalaltion originally. I kept thinking "I have to return and complete the installation"...

Whatever happened, my question remains how do I create the default portal, users, and whatver else is needed for DNN to start working?
