I recently went live on my site. Many users can login sucessfully. However, a few here and there get the same error. I am using a clean install of v. 4.5.3 on MS SQL 2005 with Windows Server 2003. Any ideas why certain users get this error and not all?

I think your issue is similar, make sure certain users using correct password, maybe reset their password.

If it does not work with this way, i think you may need to check MachineKey Validation and Decyrption keys at Web.config

Hi.  I am having the same problem.  Host and Admin are locked out after an upgrade from 4.0.0 to 4.5.3

I have checked validationKey

and it is the same as the backup.

  I am pretty shocked at this situation.
