I have an issue closely related. I'm trying to setup a dev environment on Win7 Pro x64 and running into problems. I've set up a local SQL Server 2008 DB, added a user, set that user with permissions, set the DB to allow logins using credentials, and otherwise followed the directions. When I attempt to install the wizard shows up fine, but the images are not loaded. Checking the URLs for the images, they appear to be correct. I can browse to the images in IIS Manager and it believes they should be showing up. A related issue is that it never seems to get beyond the loading DB phase - it just sits there forever attempting to generate DB scripts. Am I missing something obvious?

While I'm not in front of my computer, I'm betting the reason I'm having issues (based on what i've seen) is that "Enable Static Content" isn't checked by default. Are there any other settings (other than IIS Manager - I discovered that one after my first false start) that are required? It would be REALLY nice if these were listed as part of your tutorial. It's a great resource for getting up and running, but when you're starting from 0 some of the "well, d'uh" things aren't quite so obvious...
