Hello,

I trying to install DNN 04.06.02 on my local Testserver. Till now without success. I always get this error. I think I edited the web.config in the right way but the DNN installtion doesnt create any tables in my database. I already searched the board but I only found one thread with the same error in it and the solution for the prob was to start with the new database, I tried this too but the error is still the same.

has anyone the solution to my problem ?

I notice I get that error when I hit the Ctrl+F5 to start the installation. Then I close the browser window before completing the installation, then start the installation again. The second time, it gives that error and doesn't really start where I left off.

So it sounds like your initial install isn't completing entirely, much like mine from my previous post that no one answers.

Meanwhile, I have uninstalled all toobars, especially considering google thinks they have the right to block popups and things at their whim, and so I'm going to reboot and try it from a clean browser with no toolbars. And if that doesn't work I'll see if I can change my default browser to firefox and try it using that browser instead so that it will complete.

My install gets hung on creation of the database because I can't press the Next button without getting a javascript error. I have the latest dotnetnuke download from yesterday, so I know it's not me using an old version. But I'm hoping getting rid of the toolbars will allow the javascript to work, if not, then I've got to figure how to get beyond that point.

Also, I've tried using their default database as well  as my own sql 2000 database remotely and it does start creating the dbf, just seems to sit on that screen forever, and the next button errors on the javascript.

Try turning the install wizard off in the web.config file before starting the install process.

<

add key="UseInstallWizard" value="false" />

ok i set the useinstallwizard key to false, no success.

stuff I tried till now, and I always get the same error:

2 different databases (DotNetNuke, DNNTest)

2 different Database users. I tried it with SA without password, and with ja new generated user DNNTest with pw dnntest, no success

2 different browser (Firefox, IE 6)

The Network Service has full rights on the DotNetNuke virtual directory

Default.aspx has been added to the default documents of the virtual directory of DotNetNuke

Ok I cant see the problem, I think I have done everything right. Has anybode else a clue why its not working ?

Ok I think I got the Problem. My SQL Server can´t execute the sql file, such as DotNetNuke.setup. When I try to execute them by hand I get this error msg:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Syntax error or access violation
