If you aren't using cassini then say so and the community can carry on trying to help you (hint, if you aren't using cassini then there's no need to publish the website).

actually there is a need to publish - i'm on a development box, not a server.  When I'm through with vs2005 and the .sln and I hit "Publish Website" it published, but it throws this error.

btw wtf is cassini?  I don't control the environment the virtual directory is in btw - especially once it gets to production - so a publish website is necessary - not just a file copy.  at any rate when you do a file copy you get the same error. - object reference not set to an instance of an object.

any solutions to this problem?  post it - don't jus reference that you can fix it or have in the past we're all trying to work here...
