I did a full backup between upgrade versions, just in case. That way it would have been easy to roll back.

However, just now I found a problem. The instructions to "delete all DotNetNuke DLL files" is slightly ambiguous:

I don't know when it was added to DNN, but there's a new file called SharpZipLib.dll. During the upgrade I did NOT remove the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll and ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.xml files. Deleting them from the /bin folder resolved a serious problem with File Manager.

ICSharpCode files are not DotNetNuke files, though they get readded when unzipping the new version.

Are you saying that the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll and ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.xml files are placed in the /bin folder during an installation of 4.7.0?

I just upgraded three sites, but the only one that had these files was the 3.3.7 upgrade. The other two sites were upgraded from 4.5.x.

Thanks...

I just upgraded a week ago from 3.x to 4.07 .   Prepare yourself to go through the site and fix a bunch of little annoying things.  Everything worked, but the site was actually slower.  Trying to figure that out right now.

New Forum upgrade is not worth it just yet.  The is a page load error everytime the forum loads and they are in the process of fixing it.  I would suggest if you have a Core DNN Forum you wait for the Forum upgrade and then do the DNN upgrade all at the same time.  Should be out the month, but who really knows.
