Hi, I am in the process of evaluating DNN for our ECM needs and was wondering if I can install DNN on my desktop to play around. I do have IIS 6.0 and .NET framework installed on my laptop. Any help is greatly appreciated?

yes, there are no limitations, you can install it without issues in a virtual directory of your local pc and even transfer the site to a server later.

I do have oracle installed on my PC, will that not work? Also, I get this message while installing "DotNetNuke.zip could not be copied because it was not found". What I am doing wrong?

To use DNN with Oracle you need an Oracle data provider (which is sold separately).

Where do you get that message? Usually you start unzipping DNN install package to the root of your virtual folder, adjust permissions and call the site.
