SOS,

Has anybody successfully installed the latest version (4.0.8) of DNN onto  Window XP home edition without IIS?  I had to amend the solution and re-add the website part of the solution , but as a file website.  As a result (I think), loads of Namespaces are missing from the class files and controls.  Has anybody experienced this?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

Download the starter kit if you have not already done so. Select the template "DotNeNuke web application framework" where it says location select file system.Enter the path to you site At the time of this posting you will get an error. In the soultion explorer look for the folder "documentation" double click on the Welcome.htm file. This will guide you on how to set up the permissions for the file you just added.

Let me know if you need more help.

Hi Lee

Are you using the Source or Install versions with Visual Web Developer rather than the Starter Kit? If so I think I experienced your problem - as VWD doesn't recognise *.sln files, you don't get some of the References you need. From memory one is DotNetNuke, the other I can't think of at the moment. I will check on my home machine tonight.

Mike,

I'm using the source install with Visual Studio 2005 sp1. The solution file loads and the dotnetnuke library is referenced except some of the namespace at the top of the individual class files are missing e.g. the Null class etc. Did you get this issue?

Regards,

Lee

Dan,

Thanks for the prompt reply.  One thing I failed to mention was I wanted to download the source files.  Is your the starter kit good for this as well?

Regards and Thanks,

Lee
