Have you looked in the database and verified that the GetPortalAliasByPortalID stored procedure is indeed there?

okay... here's what I have done.

1. Inside wwwroot, I created DotNetNuke folder and unzipped the Source Install there.

2. on IIS, automatically there's a Virtual Directory created named after the folder I created inside wwwroot.

3. Inside DotNetNuke folder, i opened the DotNetNuke.sln and build the website, the build is successful but when I run it, this appeared on the IE browser. I used SQL 2005 and this is my web.config connection.

<

add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dnnuser;pwd=12345678;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

When working with the source version, one of the things you want to also do is ensure that the correct URL is in the solution file.  You would need to edit that using Notepad if you haven't already done it.

Also, did you check your database?  Is that stored procedure actually there?

----- I think i did the right thing about the url: the url that appeared when I run the solution was http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/ and on the IIS DotNetNuke_2 is actually there... is this URL wrong?
