Dan..

I attempted you fix you had posted, however when I add the new DotNetNuke.vstemplate file in the .zip file the DotNetNuke Web Application under My Templates doesn't show up.  If I don't modify the .vstemplate file then it shows up, but of course I get all those errors of missing files.  I'm not sure what I did wrong, any thoughts?

The steps I took:
copied your post, from the <VSTemplate to the </VSTemplate> into notepad
Saved the file as  "DotNetNuke.vstemplate" (no .txt extension)
Unzipped the DotNetNuke.zip from ...\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer
Removed the current .vstemplate file and copied my new .vstempate in that folder
Re-zipped the folder.

When I open VS 2008 Express the DotNetNuke Template is no longer there..

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Here's a couple of things to check:
  1. Are you using the Visual Basic langauge? The template only applies to Visual Basic (not C#)
  2. Double-check your file extension - it should be .vstemplate
  3. Check that when you zipped it, you didn't get an extra depth of folders in your zip file. Open up your Zip file (in WinRar, or 7-Zip) and make sure you don't just see a single folder. If you do, then you've accidentally zipped it up wrong.

Hi Zohaib,

Are you applying my fix to the right DNN version? (It's only intended for the DotNetNuke 5.4.1 Starter Kit)

Other than that, can you give more details?
