I wholeheartedly agree! You are ignorant LOL!!!

As I have said in my previous post the connection string is directly related to SQL version and Authentication mode you are using. By reading th SQL online books that come with SQL, or visiting MSDN and searching for connectionstrings you would do away with ignorance and walk away with pride stamped all over your forehead. <grin>

Fair enough.  But you are not ignorant, and you have read those online books.  So it's confusing to the rest of us why you would publish that connection string in release.config, when it clearly has no relation to what's really needed.  Why not just have the following "sample":

<add key="SiteSqlServer"
<please look up the rest yourself, you'll be a better person for it, what do you expect from OpenSource anyway?>

Ok, I'll stop poking fun now...

In reading the install forum it seems like 75% of all questions relate to the freaking SQL connection.  There are assumptions being made in the install document that are not clear to all developers.  I'm willing to point the finger at myself because I'm new to SQL/IIS/ASP.net.  But honestly I don't want to know everything about these technologies before I'm able to install a freaking CMS.  Now maybe I missed something in the install document, but I'm pretty sure that it does not cover how to modify the SQL 2005 express string to match your server configuration.

I think the install guide is very helpful, and a lot of time obviously went into it.  Thank you to whom ever took the time to write this document.  I would however like to suggest that DNN provide some additional examples with various configurations somewhere in the install document,.  Or at the very least, point readers to a Web site with some online examples.

My 2 cents... now onto exploring DNN.
