Ooops! Seems I spoke too soon.

I have the website working on 'localhost/dotnetnuke' and intranet '192.168.0.106/dotnetnuke'.

But can't connect from the internet (eg. 199.126.125.75/dotnetnuke). I can successfully Ping 199.126.125.75.

Would this be a Windows problem or a DNN 'Portal Alias' problem.

Error message is 'could nto connect to "199.126.125.75/dotnetnuke/Default.aspx" because the server is not responding.

Does this refer to the DNN application or the Windows web server.

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Peter

might be a firewall issue (allow traffic on port 80), an IIS host header issue (make sure that the ip address is handled by the correct website) or a portal alias issue (make sure the url is also a http alias)

Hi Chris,
I had an experience of a very quick response from you a few days back and hoping the same this time.:)

My problem is that, i have deployed a dnn website to my iis server but every time i run the site it takes me to the Install/install.aspx page with Auto radio button disabled saying it is disabled because it cannot access the db.
Here is what I have done:

- I added my iis server port alias like this: 172.20.20.116/myrobotics (i have tried antering both aliases with and without the port number)
- I copied the entire working copy along with database to the IIS directory of my site
- Did NOT made any changes to the connection string because it is in the same App_Data directory
- restarted IIS
- restarted my site
- Browse to the site

and it took me to the install page, what am i doing wrong?
