Open web.config with a text editor and re-save the file unchanged. call the site again and check, whether the issue is gone.

If not you will need to check file system permissions.

No, it still redirects to that error url.

Already permissions has been set for following files and folders:

Desktopmodules folder, site urls config, Install folder, Config folder, bin folder, App_data folder, Web config file, Default.aspx file and Default.aspx.vb file.

Is there any more files (like db files) that need permission?. Currently i accessing my db directly from sql server viz. in the web config file i give the server ip as data source. do i need to put db files in db folder of my root or app_data folder of my root change the datasource in web config accordingly?

Thanks,

Swaminathan
