Hi everybody!

I'm newbie in DotNetNuke and i installed it following every step marked in http://seablick.com/blog/71/a-newbies-guide-to-installing-dotnetnuke.aspx but when i try to run it, appears this error:

Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application.

Failed to access IIS metabase.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironmentException: Failed to access IIS metabase.

The process account used to run ASP.NET must have read access to the IIS metabase (e.g. IIS://servername/W3SVC). For information on modifying metabase permissions, please see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904.

 most likely, asp.Net is not properly registered. please run regiis.

Follow the steps given below to fix this error
 
(1) Go to Start | Control Panel | Add and Remove Programs
 
(2) Click on the entry titled Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and select Change/Remove. The Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Setup dialog box opens up.
 
(3) Select the option titled Repair and the setup automatically performs the required repair work.
 
(4) You will be prompted to reboot the system after the completion of the process.
 
(5) Run the affected ASP.NET 2.0 application once again and the application should work fine without any problems.

Going here C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 and then running: aspnet_regiis -i solved my problem as I had installed IIS after Visual Studio 2008 thanks to forums.asp.net
