After I finish up my current project, I'll see about hacking up the nav provider to try and eliminate this error once and for all...

The issue is in 2 seperate places. The ClientAPI, and SolPartMenu. The ClientAPI issue can be found at CAP-7321

actually i think the error is in the OceanSpiders file, specifically this definition:

<

browser id="OceanSpiders" parentID="Default">identification>userAgent match="(?i-s:crawler|bot|spider|larbin|search|indexer|archiver|Nutch)" />identification>capture>userAgent match="^(?'browser'^.*)/(?'version'(?'major'\d+)(?'minor'\.\d+))" />userAgent match="^(?'browser'^.*)[ /\-](?'version'(?'major'\d+)(?'minor'\.\d+))" />userAgent match="(?'browser'java)(?'version'(?'major'\d+)(?'minor'\.\d+))" />capture>capabilities>capability name="browser" value="${browser}" />capability name="majorversion" value="${major}" />capability name="minorversion" value="${minor}" />capability name="version" value="${version}" /> capability name="crawler" value="true" />capability name="isMobileDevice" value="false" />capability name="IsSyndicationReader" value="false" />capabilities>browser>

The problem is that a lot of crawlers do not have versions set, while they are caught by this definition because the useragent matches. I'd say this node needs to be changed to force a version number instead of taking the version number from the user agent.

We are busy evaluating hundreds of useragents, including this one and expect to have a browsers file fix in 5.1.1

Joe, can you please comment on the severity of this issue? If it is MAJOR (or has severe SEO effects) then can it be backported to the majority of DNN users who are still on 4.9.4?
