I am getting a strange install wizard screen while trying to install DotNetNuke community edition 5.1.2. Just for reference I have done this on 3 different machines with the same results. A server 2008 box, a vista box, and a winxp box. I followed the DNN install video step by step.

Here is a link to a screen shot of the install screen: http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b20/ice_shack/DNN/?action=view&current=DNN_install.jpg

I get  no text on the screen. When I fumble through and get it to install all my screens have a problem.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks

Marty

That is definitely odd, I would check to see if the INSTALL package you downloaded is complete.  I would also recommend using DNN 5.1.4 if you can

Thanks for the reply Chris,

I did what you said and downloaded 5.1.4. I get the exact same problem. Also I tried installing it on a machine that I just put Windows 7 on and I get the same thing.

I have also tried using a different browser with same results.

Any other ideas? Anybody? I sure would like to get this working.

Something else to add...

I installed VS2008, loaded the website, and ran it. It comes up just fine with the VS2008 builtin server. If I switch VS2008 to use IIS7 I get the problem.

Hmmm in IIS is it running under the Network Service account or a different account? I setup my Win7 box to use Network Service for the application pool identities.
