apparently it only works with IIS in Window XP. Previously, I install the community edition at Window Server 2008 and it doesn't work at all. Now i configure and install at Window XP and it works not.

Guys, try at window XP and post your report here. Thanks

Try turning off human friendly url's and go back to search friendly url's - you'll have to edit the web.config file to do this.  The human friendly url's definitely don't work on a localhost dev set up.

Of course there is no login.aspx.  Everything is created and displayed via the default.aspx.   The login control gets injected into that page like everything else is.  But, just because login.aspx doesn't physically exist doesn't mean that Dotnetnuke can't change the url to a "human friendly url" like "login.aspx".  It's just renaming the pages so every page isn't called "default.aspx."  Again, try turning off human friendly url's and that may clear up the 404 errors.

Check your other settings, too.  What is the actual version of DNN you are finding this problem on?  DNN 5.1.4?  5.0.0?  4x?  Are the portal alias's set up correctly in the database?   Is there a problem with the domain name or domain name servers or your web host settings?  Is anything logged in the event log in DNN?
